Bangkok’s nightlife scene has been raised to new heights with the opening of Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar.
Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar, Thailand’s highest restaurant and bar, is now open at Bangkok’s King Power Mahanakhon – otherwise known as the tallest building in Thailand. The new restaurant is perched on the 76th and 77th floors – the very top – of the landmark, providing some of the best views in the city of the bustling streets below and the surrounding skyline.
Designed by Wilson Associates, the restaurant bar is a fusion of French and Thai decor with a wood-panelled entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows, a marble bar situated within a textured glass alcove, a urban jungle-inspired terrace and finishing touches such as French antique books, Japanese ceramic pottery, a large sculpture of a bull’s head and hand-painted vases.
Not just boasting panoramic views, the restaurant offers some of the best fine dining in Bangkok. Taking inspiration from the nearby Chao Praya River, the modern brassiere specialises in both Asian and Western cuisines and includes a menu of over 100 curated wines; indoor and outdoor seating, along with a nine-person VIP lounge; and delectable meals crafted by Executive Chef Joshua Cameron with signature dishes such as Ayutthaya river prawns cooked in Jean-Yves Bordier espelette butter, Andaman sea bass with Nahm Jim emulsion, Hokkaido scallops with enoki mushroom and kale, and cured Japanese sea bream crudo.
